Ara Hills is a multi-stage, master-planned subdivision development in Orewa, Auckland, that will eventually provide up to 900 lots.
Airey was engaged to provide civil and structural engineering Stages 1 and 3A of the development.
The detailed civil engineering design includes significant earthworks, retaining walls, arch culverts, erosion and sediment control, roading and streetscape, hard landscaping, stormwater, water supply, and wastewater, including a pump station.
Airey designed several stormwater management devices including public raingardens, wetlands, and private detention/retention tanks to mitigate the effects on the environment of the stormwater runoff from the development.
